Calories burned while weight lifting

Hello eveyone,

I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. I find very hard to introduce all the activities I do at the gym, because not everyday I do the same workout. There is an estimate of calories burned at the gym lifting 30-40 pound in differents machines?.

I do not want to spend more time introducing the info onto MFP app than actually lifting weight lol

Thanks.

There are so many factors it would be impossible to estimate calories burnt lifting. Factors such as rest time, weight lifted etc...

I'm not logging my strength on MFP.

The easiest way that I've found to track my strength training is to use a heart rate monitor, or my newest fitness tool the Bodymedia armband. With the armband I start the workout using the app on my phone and the armband transfers the info via Bluetooth. Bodymedia is a MFP Partner so the information is synched between my accounts with no effort from me.

The armband has been an invaluable tool in my fitness arsenal.

HRM's, or any device, do not work for strength training. Different energy systems.
