Monkeys be-gone! Hit 60 with Sexy!

Always a monkey on my back, food - sweets - diets - no diet - OMG so f*ckin' tired of these chatty monkeys in my ear. Cholesterol, HBP, Diabetes..., MORE monkeys!!!!! Not my first rodeo on MFP either. Soooo, 6+ months until 60 - one more try?? (diet probably will work cuz I just bought FAT CLOTHS). Tired of the pressure & stress I put on myself - lose the fat - lose the monkey's and stress! WHEW!

Y'know what? You're almost exactly the age I was when I joined here: I joined in July (2015!?!) and turned 60 that November. I'm now 69, have been maintaining a healthy weight since that loss. I think it is possible . . . and that if a hedonistic aging hippie flake with near-zero motivation/willpower can do it, you can do it too.
This is one of those cases, IMO, where slow and steady wins the race. People who shoot for "lose weight fast" with extreme restrictive diets and punitively intense exercise plans? They seem to crash and burn pretty fast, in many cases.
I'm cheering for you to succeed: If your experience turns out like mine, the quality of life improvement that results is more than worth the effort it takes to get there. Best wishes!

@AnnPT77 Ive been on a similar trajectory. Vertical sleeve in 2016 -lost 100lbs and bounced back and forth 10-20lbs for several years. Had some skin removal last year that I dropped anther 30 before. Have lost another 30 +/- and holding off. I had a life event that took me off track from lifting but got back into the game a couple weeks ago. Thankful that I had gained no weight in those 5 months of crazy.
would love to see an active group. Maybe even some video chats once a month.1
