Tired of hunting for an item in the database list for use in the food diary?
Because there are exhaustive similar database item names for selecting an entry (for your item) can be a long process, why not allow the user a familiar manner to navigate the list using selective nutrition elements? When I navigate through the list, I pay most attention to the calories element because I know I don't want to use something that doesn't match my product label calories; I know a change of calories almost always means change to at least one other label has changed. When I have to enter a new item, I try to use grams and ounces as my serving size. I assume other users have other keys to find an appropriate item.
I suggest several items to get those possibilities to the top of the list before the others and then the sort current order. The items can be change under Settings. I would use calories and serving type.

It appears that this problem may have been corrected merely by not sharing new entries, and/or listing the creator's entries first.
