Hi! just started my fitness journey on Friday. I’m struggling a bit with getting steps in and drinking enough water. I really want to succeed and lose about 40 pounds and be healthier.

    focus on that desire to lose and keep it burning.

    You can’t possibly expect perfection four or five days into a relatively complex new project. Give yourself some grace to get the project snowballing.

    You’re going to experience some pretty wild up and down movement in the scale over the first six weeks. Ignore.

    Your body’s getting used to a whole new thing, and your digestion to new foods. Plus new exercise can create temporary water weight gain during periods of soreness. Y


    ou’re going to lose fast water weight and likewise put on fast water weight, and it may appear you’re “gaining”, when you’re not.


    after six weeks you should have a pretty good idea if you’re maintaining, have lost some net pounds, or gained. That’s when you start reevaluating your calorie goal, if necessary.

    Too many people here start, and then quit within days because they don’t understand, it’s a process, and requires patience.
