Add back brand search in the diary

I just wanted to leave some feedback on a recent update. The search feature for adding foods to the diary is not searching the brand section of a food anymore. I'm no longer able to search "kraft" to find kraft mac and cheese for example.

I'd greatly appreciate if that functionality were added back, as I used it very regularly and it seems like this feature was removed for no added benefit.

    Agreed. Extremely frustrating not being able to find a food I used to find by brand name. Especially when users uploaded foods don't always follow the correct format for food name/brand name/etc.

    I agree. This isn't helpful. If they'd changed search in the way, but added a filter option so we could search by brand or search by food name, I'd be OK with it. But not being able to search by brand, as appears to be the case now, is a problem. If I have a specific brand of vegetable soup in my hand, I want to be able to search for that specific brand, not just "vegetable soup". I don't want to have to use the bar code scan, especially when some of the bar-coded entries don't match the label on my food in calories/nutrition.

    Poorly designed change.
