Weight gain
today 9/5/25 I’m starting my fitness journey. I am the heaviest I’ve ever been and I’m ashamed of it so please follow along if you’d like to help me out!

Jenn … you're sure to get lots of 'help' on here! Some you may probably wish you'd not gotten and some that will be most helpful.
My little bit of it … you look like still a young woman … get whatever body issue you have over with while you are still young.
To do that … you will probably have to make life-long changes a little at a time to how and when and what you eat and also to how much you sit around and how much you do stuff that is physical …
Take it one day at a time, or just one meal at a time. You cannot change what has already been but do have the opportunity to do it differently the very next time! …
And most important of all … our weight does change daily and sometimes it's higher for a myriad of reasons that have nothing to do with how much we ate or how little we worked ourselves tired! So just stay the course with your plan and don't be in a rush to judge.
Well … I guess I had a lot of 'helpful' tips for you as you start your journey. Good luck.

No shame necessary! Your body has done exactly what it evolved to do: store up extra energy in the event of scarcity. Our ancestors did that every year. We are so incredibly blessed that we have accesses to affordable food all the time— even in the dead of winter. Our programming is just a bit off for modern living, and we often gain too much weight. If you feel like dieting is hard— it is! We evolved to avoid it, and overriding our natural inclinations requires an enormous amount of intellectual effort. But, it's worth it!
So, set up your MFP account, go get a food scale and some extra cup and spoon measures, clear out all the tempting ultra-processed foods (Oreos be gone!), cut out da booze, stop eating takeout (which gaslights you into eating tons of extra calories and sodium), download some simple recipes, go shopping, and cook all your own meals (if you don't already). Get to know the outside of the grocery store: WTF is that vegetable and how do you eat it?
