Hello, I’m new here.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post. My nutritionist/dietitian recommended that I join this app so we can go through the journey together. I’m excited to have the support of a community as well.

I am currently managing several health challenges, including fatty liver disease, high blood pressure, cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), and plantar fasciitis, which makes exercise more difficult. I follow a primarily plant-based diet with intervals of Mediterranean eating once a week each month.

My current weight is 220 lbs, and my goal weight is 140 lbs.

I’m looking forward to learning, sharing, and supporting one another on this journey.

    hi Tania @TanisParsons

Welcome to MFP! You sound very similar to me. I started slightly higher, had a wealth of health issues hovering and waiting to sting, and my dietician also recommended MFP. It was a game changer for me.

The dieticians at my hospital-owned gym are so familiar with MFP, I simply hand them my phone with the app open, and they page through my food diary and make suggestions.

The app really works- if you invest the time to learn to use it, and to weigh and log.

I also strongly recommend syncing a fitness tracker with it. That helped me make the connection of how hard it is to burn off the equivalent of those Oreos or whatever. It totally made me re-think my food choices.

    Hi welcome

Our RD referred us here earlier this year for similar reasons.

The tools are helpful. The conversations in the discussion categories encouraging - lots of people here working on these things.

Look forward to hearing how you're doing :)
