hello Iam new
I am 64 lady and have been stress eating due to my husband cancer diagnose. I have gone up a size in clothing 28 days ago I joined fitness pal and have been faithfully walking on the treadmill 4-5 miles a day. In the past i have been obsessed with the scales so I am determined to go by how my clothes fit to measure accomplishments. My problem is, I have noticed ZERO change. Is anyone out there in my same shoes? Would love to chat. CF

welcome back to MFP.First of all, many hugs to both you and your husband. You’re living my nightmare. I can’t even imagine. Is it any wonder you’re stressed?
Forgive yourself you “transgression”. As Scarlett said, “Tomorrow is another day.”
How can you channel your energy away from food and into the crisis at hand?
I’m the kind of person who would immerse myself in research. What are the treatment options? Prognosis? What could I do to improve his prognosis? And knowing husbands, that would be with and without his knowledge.
He’s probably super stressed, but, again, knowing my husband, he wouldn’t show it for fear of upsetting me. How can you provide support ( for me, that would be without irritating or aggravating him to boot).
I don’t have any magic suggestions, other than to weigh your food and log. It would take you many, many miles to “work off” stress over eating. At least that’s something you could take in hand?
There’s quite a few cancer and serious illness survivors here on the boards. Hoping they’ll chime in with suggestions on what they’d recommend to make it all go more smoothly.
