That decimal issue and customer support
LOL! I sent a support request to support due to the decimal issue being ridiculous. I got the answer that I should not use things like 0.08 oil or 0.09 garlic but stick with 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 or 1 instead. Sure, next time I'll log 0.25/100ml oil, or just use zero. (yes, i know I can log by gram, which mostly, but not always circumvents this issue). But that aside, someone not knowing this will be completely confused by that rep's answer and then wonder why the calories are off.
So I replied and explained that the answer was totally insufficient. And got an answer back on how to log in using a vpn or not, and then how to delete and download the app again. Great service. Thanks a lot.

Does 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 even work correctly?
Also wth, this should be a trivial bug fix!

Not always. Sigh. Seriously, this should be easy to fix. But I guess the whole IT team is vibe coding the new diary layout.

Sometimes I have to use 1.333333 or 3.66666 because MFP has broken the recipe page (for web users) and it hasn't possible to update existing recipes since the beginning of August. My 'salad' one gets used a lot as I make a big bowl and it does me for lunch over 2 or 3 days. Having to work out the individual ingredients divided by 3 and then log each one separately is often giving me odd numbers. For some thing that could be quite a difference

Yeah, I complained about that issue with the .0978796097087 decimal point thing too. I'm having the issue with grams too though. Only when using a percentage of 100 grams and yes I know it's a very minor calorie difference, but it's just a visual checkpoint I don't need and that just appeared recently. It makes me double check because it's an anomaly.
The replies I've gotten on several issues with the new FOOD page are generic, "Yeah, thanks, " replies.
::shrug::

Since this thread looks mostly old timers :) I have not been getting great vibes about the pal portion of MFP and user interaction. Looks like there is probably more money to be made with prescriptive assistance and I do admit that the RDs they've hired do make some sense :) (hey that's high praise and I've really only looked at less than 5 or 6 things they've written)
Forums have been not much fun visually on Android. The editing bug seems to have been fixed so things do happen.... slowly!
Subsequent to the threat days of "we will disappear your old data if you don't subscribe--without giving you the option to download first" --mine were cut off for a while and then mysteriously reappeared by the time I next checked again a year and a bit later--I've been logging on the Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada nutrition and health tracking app. And hanging out in the larger losers group and the forum once the wall went away.
The forums and the interaction and comradery if you will definitely did make a difference for me when I was losing and during the early days of maintenance
Do I think they can be replaced with paid interaction with AI and staff... maybe yes maybe not. But I won't be shocked to see things moving in that direction.
