I've been plateaued at 180 since July1, and need some input. I am 61 yrs, F, and set a calorie goal of 1600, with an eventual goal of 150.. Should I be losing weight, even if I don't exercise? I know that if I was not logging and trying to get control of my weight I'd be eating a lot more on a daily basis. I know I go over my daily limit about half the time, but most times, not by all that much. Should I reduce my carbs? I am not ready to give up but am totally disgusted with myself. Any help is appreciated.

A calorie deficit is all that is needed to lose weight. Once a person gets closer to their goal, the weight will come off at a slower rate. If you are not losing, there is a miscalculation somewhere. Are you logging accurately? Are you weighing everything? Would you be willing to open your diary?0 -
1600 calories for a 61 yr old female.....
Without knowing more details, seems to me that you are at a break-even point with your "calories in vs. calories out".
Up your activity or drop your calories.....
Re-structure your macros might also be another option.0 -
try less - like 1400 cals - for a month.
Open diaries help. How many carbs you eating now?0 -
Well, going over your budget half the time certainly won't lead to weigh loss and you might want to reset your budget. Not sure how tall you are but I'm 5'2" and 56 yrs old and my BMR is just under 1200 so if I ate 1600 a day I'd be gaining without having days that I went over. Make sure that you've picked the sedentary setting.0
