Eating when you're back at 6 PM and still want to work out?

Hi,

I am coming back from work at 6PM and I am usually very hungry..
I am used to eating a meal, mostly based of wholewheat bread/lean meat/vegs.
Then i wait 1-2 h and i do my 30 min exercise round (or go running).

Then i just eat a small yogurt afterwards.

This is perhaps not optimal but i want to avoid eacting much after workout.
I do not burn more than 300 kcal per workout and I am affraid that the appetite after exercising would lure me into overeating.
I also like to go to sleep 3-4 h after last meal.

Is this reasonable?
Anyone has a better idea how to plan these after work/pre work-out meals?

This is exactly what I do. I dont find I have much of an appetite after exercise anyway....so I just eat some peanut butter ^^

If that's what works for you, that's fine.

For me, I can't work out after I eat a big meal. So, I would be opposite. I come home, have a protein shake, work out, then have my last meal (and ice cream, of course)... Then to bed on a full tummy, tired and fresh out the shower. Makes for restful sleeping. For me. Gotta do what works for you, though.

This is similar to what works for me. I eat a snack at work around 4pm (I try to make it more carb-based if I'm running that day, protein based if I'm lifting). Then workout at 6pm and dinner at 7pm-7:30pm. I've never had a problem with overeating after a workout, but if eating dinner before working out is working for you, then just keep doing what you're doing.
