@globalhiker that’s great you are treating yourself to the premium plan! Yes, plan for a spectacular November!
I have had MFP premium for nearly two years and tracked every single food and drink to the point of obsession. LOL.
But it’s been very good for tracking all the Macro details I like to see and I love no ads ;). you can also download progress reports and pair your devices for exercise……Hope you like it!4

Not promoting but sharing information. There is plenty of info on macros out there, but I have followed this registered dietician on IG for a long while…..she has a great perspective on alcohol as the 4th macro…..it’s for people interested in moderate alcohol consumption as part of their lifestyle - she is pro LA as well and has some great tips for achieving less. 3

@tmbg1 glad to hear you’re doing a little better, despite all. The final goodbye will be tough, but such an important part of grieving. 3

AF again tonight. That’s 12 days this month for me! Wow! @NonnieDoiron I definitely notice the inflammation weight when I exercise. I like your idea of Friday weigh ins so your body can adjust to the activity level of weekends. I have been a bit of a tired slug the last few days. An initial burst of energy this morning devolved into needing a nap and general laziness. My boat stuff is still not dealt with. Maybe tomorrow I can make a dent. Although… my husband is coming down with something and I had BETTER NOT catch it!!!! 7

Hi all. Lots of good efforts here. Congratulations to everyone! After a pretty boozy September, I decided to do a sober October. I may have had some alcohol on the first Saturday— I don’t recall. I decided to commit to it as my wife had a lot of travel this month and I didn’t want to be home drinking all alone— no guardrails! As with all dry spells, it takes a bit to get going, then smooths out. It’s tempting to extend until thanksgiving, which I think I did last year. Hard to decide! 4

YAY!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Great job! I’m so happy for you, @WestCoastGirl_1 ! Let’s keep it going, I know you can do it! @Jthanmyfitnesspal congrats on the sober October! Are you wanting to quit or just drink less often? Maybe hold out until Thanksgiving and enjoy a beverage on Turkey Day? A-0

Forgot to mention as of today I have lost 10lbs. This loss is from simply cutting back on alcohol and less high calorie snacks. My blood work just came back, and everything looks good except my bad chloreseterol. I will eliminate all heavy fat dairy now and continue to drink only occasionally if at all and retest in 6 months. :) 7

Keep going! @globalhiker ~ you've done it before, so you can do it again. Reset in the works ~ You got this!! @Michieb125 ~ Can't wait to check out that link. @tmbg1 ~ I will be thinking of you and your family this weekend. @Jthanmyfitnesspal ~ good to see you, and congrats on the sober October! I say go for Thanksgiving…you're already in the AF state of mind..so just ride the wave. @xbowhunter Congrats on the positive blood work and nice loss! A week from today, I turn 65.
I’m happy (hopefully, still a week to go! 😉) to be reaching that milestone — because many do not. Aside from extra weight (yeah, there's that), my early October annual and bloodwork results came back almost perfect. A little high on LDL but overall cholesterol 174. After my sister's diagnosis, I went through heavy screening for me and all is well. Still, I’ll admit there’s a bit of sadness mixed in. So much life has passed — both the beautiful and the hard — and it leaves me feeling a little melancholy at best.I’ve never really had a problem with milestone birthdays. I was even fine with 60 — and that one landed right in the middle of COVID, so celebrating was pretty limited. When my husband turned 65, I took him to Punta Cana. His birthday’s in January, and he kept saying, “I want to wake up somewhere warm on my birthday.” So I granted that wish! ☀️ I didn’t necessarily expect the same in return, but I guess I did hope for something more than flowers and dinner out. Every once in a while, he’ll ask, “What do you want to do?” — which tells me he’s got nothing planned. That kind of stings. He doesn’t have the funds for extravagance, but that’s poor planning on his part. It's not like he didn't know it was coming 🤣 I had considered planning something for myself… but didn’t. Maybe I should have. At any rate, I’m choosing to look for the positive. I’ve lived long enough to know that my happiness is my responsibility. So…. ✅ 65 Acts of Joy — I came across this idea and loved it. For the 65 days leading up to my 65th birthday, I’ve focused on one thing each day that makes me happy — or better yet, brings joy to someone else. I wasn’t always spot on every day, but I made up for it when I missed. It’s been a fun and meaningful exercise. ✅ Lola, my puppy — a pleasant, crazy, and challenging little diversion. I just built a cement wall around my couch to protect her from the electrical cords (we have a reclining sofa). The things we do for love… and puppies. 🐶 All this to say, my focus on being alcohol-free hasn’t been as stellar this month. Wine does make me happy — but my goal is moderation, not daily drinking, even if it’s just a glass or two. So yes, I’ll probably continue to wallow a little in my feelings until my birthday while I figure out something fun to do to celebrate — even if it’s just Lola and me. 💖 2

@itladyee I agree with @NonnieDoiron Just make your own birthday fun! I once was deserted by my friends on my birthday (I wasn't married yet), so I decided to go out by myself. I went to this tiny old mining town called Gold Hill. They had an old hotel and two other bars that had gambling. I ran into a couple of guys by the pool table. I had the best birthday ever. We stuck together all night long and went casino hoping. Do what you want to do! 0
