What Apps are you using in the gym to follow and track your workouts?

I used to use my own sheet in Google Sheets.
Then I switched to FitNotes on Android (I don't know if it's on iOS too). It's free, no ads, no fuss, does exactly what I need which is tracking workouts and exercises.

Hevy on apple is a good one, has all the exercises in a database you can choose from with an animation showing you how to perform them along with instructions. When you build out your routine it also shows you how many sets are targeting each muscle group, so you can easily see if you're overloading or underloading anywhere.

Joking aside, there are some good apps these days, and Fitnotes - recommended above - has been recommended by others here, too. I don't like messing with my phone when I'm working out, hence the notebook which for me is less fiddly. Yes, I'm old, though not technically inept. I've set up a lot of my machine workouts to auto-log, but that's cardio not lifting.
Some people here have said that their Garmin watch's strength workout function is good at recognizing which lifts they're doing and counting reps/sets automagically, but it's truly terrible at that for me.

I enjoyed Bodyspace until it was discontinued. Have you tried Ryse? Once you get beyond the initial learning curve, it's a great way to record your workouts. There is a private mode whereas no one can see your workouts or profile.

FitNotes is perfect. Everything I need is there, and even some things I didn't realize I needed!

For lifting I use the strengthlevel.com website. Plus I let my garmin watch run in the background and correct the incorrectly identified exercises (all of them, basically). Also use the watch for every other exercise. That's enough for me.

I can't stand stopping enter stuff into an app. If I wanted to track weights, I'd use a little notebook and pencil, as I did when I was younger. I won't wait for a machine, I'll just skip to something else and come back, so the order is always different. Also, I've done it so much that I remember the basic set of exercises. I'm not increasing weight, so whatever works, works. First set is always at a low weight to warm up the tendons. I do 2-3 on each lift.
If I remember, I turn on the Garmin "Strength" app in "autodetect mode," which detects a few lifts correctly but misses most. When I remember, I press the lap button before a lift, which can detect the number of reps… sometimes. Mostly, it serves to monitor total time and heart rate.

I really like Caliber. Didn’t care for Fitbod but maybe it was my settings.

The best one I found is Strong on Android. Free version is perfect.
There is also a website www.strenthlevel.com which calculates your 1RM. It helps a lot with working out your workout program and to calculate what weights to progress with.0 -
Like others mentioned Hevy is good. Also, recently came across a new one called Flexion (I believe it is www.flexionapp.com, since it's a bit harder to find than the more popular apps). It's a bit different though, it's more focused on exercise form not tracking. But it was impressive! It took some squat/deadlift videos of mine and gave pretty high quality feedback based on what it saw in the lifts. Other than I love MyFitnessPal for food tracking ofc and I use Nike Running to help me on my cardio days!
