New to myFitnessPal. Have lost 20 lbs, but hit a plateau. Need to focus more to lose the next 20. Feel the app and the community will assist in my weight loss program. Enjoying it so far. Thanks

    How long has your weight stalled, and was it sudden (after steady loss at a good rate) or gradual (tapering off over a period of weeks)?

    In general, a scale stall less than 4-6 weeks may not be an actual plateau in fat loss. Bodies are weird sometimes.

    If loss was going along at a good pace then the scale suddenly stopped dropping even though your routine stayed pretty consistent, there are fairly strong chances you're seeing some kind of water retention effect. That's pretty common at some point(s) during weight loss, for various reasons. The best solution in that scenario is patience - wait it out.

    If loss gradually got slower and slower over weeks on the same routine, then the odds are higher that you've found your current maintenance calories for your lighter self. If that's the case, the solution is some combination of eating somewhat fewer calories or increasing activity.
