You can do it! Weight control is not easy, but it is possible using this website. If you cook a lot, your best tools are the "meals" and "recipes" features, most easily set up through the web page, rather than on a phone. (You can later access them from your phone.)
Meal: A collection of foods usually eaten together.
Recipe: a list of ingredients used to make multiple portions. When entered properly, you can easily know the calories in a portion of something you cooked. There is a fancy recipe importer or you can enter manually. There are lots of recipes on MFP that you can import (from the blogs, for instance).
