Met à Nice person who seemed interested in my diet
I started talking to a person named Tom Jones who questioned my eating habits and he seemed nice. I was happy to share,, however after telling me about an army and sending pictures of his fake/ real kids- he asked me for 1000$. I don't think it was him,, I think he'd been hacked. He was in the army (apparently) in a desert, hoping to reunite with his kids in a month. Don't fall for scammers. I wouldn't give money and as a single parent,, I won't be fooled by someone online. Not this time.

Honestly, pretty much every single friend request you will get on MFP, unless you have already been talking to them here on the community, is a scammer. The place is absolutely riddled with them.

What Alateriel said. The forums are full of bots and scammers. Don't accept any friend request unless it is someone you have interacted with and know is real.
