Omega 3:6 Ratio ( 1:1 to 1:4 )
As my (60 F) approach is still evolving, I want to say that my latest seems to be working AND I feel better to boot. (2 weeks in!) I’m tracking my caloric / nutrient / water intake with MyFitnessPal, then taking a screenshot after each meal, then adding it to my ChatGPT tracker! On ChatGPT, I’m tracking oxalates (Kidmey stone sufferer!), my supplements, and my omega-3 to omega six ratio trying to keep it between 1:1 and a 1:4 balance. It’s been a real game changer for me on maintaining a good ratio because I can tell my joints are less sore in the morning and that’s very important to me. It’s early days, but I’ll keep you guys updated! Luckily, Walmart carries grass fed meats, a brand of grassfed chicken and Kelly gold cheeses, and butter all grass fed. (I get Ghee there as well!) I never realized how much of an imbalance my Omega 6 was prior to tracking it. On another post, I said that I unlocked the secret for me to continue to lose weight. I am still allowing myself a free day a week and calorie cycling…. Luckily once a week won’t mess up any of my metrics and it allows me a little fun. :)

Most omega 6's are in processed and ultra processed foods and seed oil. Remove these and reducing them greatly replacing them with grass fed and organic meats will generally lead to better overall health and reduced inflammation, and joint pain reduction is quite common when engaged in this particular dietary change. While the ratio changes greatly when doing this, which is important, very important, it's probably a passenger and not the driver you think it is. cheers
