Coming back years later

I'm Kelli, 47, disabled, and needing to get back on track. My doctor called yesterday to tell me I have four months to turn my labs around on my own before he intervenes. I am sedentary due to muscular dystrophy, which he is very understanding of, but I'm needing to adjust my eating habits. My A1c is now 6.4. My cholesterol is almost 400 and my triglycerides are almost 500. My white blood count is high, and I will be keeping an eye on that.
I believe my previous username was ugottafriend, but I cannot figure out my login so I came back with a new email address and similar name. I would like to find communities here to keep me motivated.

Take care!

Kelli

    Hi Kelli, welcome back :)

Imagine things have changed a bit, eh? There are active challenges advertised in the challenge forum category - a good place to find people active here.

There is a monthly challenge that is focused on consistency with 20 mins of intentional movement each day (can break into parts), eating within calorie food goals and tracking. No weigh-ins and optional discussions with the daily checkins - a very nice, non-judgemental, friendly easy-going group (attendance, doing things is up to you, for you - no one tracks or smacks you ;)

The group goes private on the 6th each month, but everyone is welcome and people can join anytime. Here's a link to the challenge for Oct here on MFP.
