I’m motivated

hello Fit Pals, I used App a few years back and it really helped me stay focussed but wavered for a while with Carnivore. Keto, IF, Lyman etc and my weight has only climbed. I have a medicine I have to take which of course makes you gain weight, and I am 61 yo female whose metabolism has dropped significantly. I am motivated to use the MyFitnessPal and get back on track

    Hello and welcome back!

I haven't tried any of those eating styles, but am also a woman in her 60s (69 now, 59-60 during weight loss). MFP was the perfect tool for me, once I got serious and committed to logging what I ate, and balancing my calorie intake/expenditure to make sensibly gradual progress with losing some body weight. I lost around 50 pounds back then, have been at a healthy weight since, still using MFP.

I guess I'm lucky on the medication front, I don't need to take many. I'm severely hypothyroid, but I guess the meds for that are more likely to help weight management than hinder. I used to take some drugs for breast cancer that have the weight gain repetition, but that was years back, and happened to coincide with becoming much more active, which I guess kind of balanced things out. I stayed overweight/obese, but was reasonably weight stable there for a dozen years until losing with with MFP.

For me, reaching a healthy weight and staying there has been a big quality of life improvement for me. I'm hoping you can achieve something similar.

    Best wishes!
