I Hate It When...

...People pick off of my plate. I measure everything I eat and drink that has calories. Any idea on how to make them stop? Asking them nicely only changes their actions for that meal. The next time I'm eating, they start picking again.

Think of it as negative calories... They're doing you a favour.0

Continue to tell them to stop so that they will eventually realize that you don't approve of it. If you only say it once in a while, they will assume that it is okay. Or you could eat in a separate room from them or make some extra and give them that plate of food. Maybe stabbing them with your fork might work too.0

Um, what kind of people are you hanging around that feel it's ok to pick food off of your plate?0

Any idea on how to make them stop?
Stab at their hands with your fork.
I get fewer Christmas cards than I used too, but my macros are perfect.0 -

When they go to eat off your plate smack them on the fingers with your fork!!! Bet that would work!!!0 -
Cover your plate, look them in the eye and growl at them.
They'll laugh it off but get the message. If not, a bite or two usually does the trick.0 -
Lick your food before you eat it. In front of them.0

I have a friend who used to pick off his mom's plate all the time. Until she stabbed him in the arm with her fork. He has a scar from it still, I am not even kidding. Not that I'm recommending that, but he doesn't take other people's food anymore.0

As funny and gratuitous the fork stabbing would be, it's a bit extreme, perhaps a slap (hard) on the hand might be efficient, couple with a growl and and hiss might be even be frightening.0

SNEEZE ON YOUR FOOD. Problem solved, what's next?0

THIS!!! I've 'stabbed' my husband with my fork - he no longer steals from my plate.........!
That's just plain rude - what's on your plate is YOURS!
We're Jewish - Christmas Cards don't play into this......................!0 -
