I've joined a club I never thought I'd be in

Hi guys. My name is Lance. I'm 49, 279lbs, 5'10'.

Today marks the first week after my heart attack. Those words are very hard for me to accept, yet, there they are. They've been spoken to me by paramedics, and health professionals.

Heart Attack. I'm just - you know. Wow. My lifestyle hasn't always been one that included healthy habits, exercise or much concern for my overall wellbeing. I mean, I'm young-ish. I can change later when it really counts. I'd pat myself on the back for quitting a pack a day habit 13 years ago. I'd slowly over time try to get more water, less sugar; less red meat, more heart healthy options. Naw, I'll do it later.

And now, the doors of the Heart Attack Club has swung wide open and took my golden ticket. I'm still figuring it out. I just wanted to introduce myself.

    Hey

A shock for sure, and time to live more. Did they set you up with a cardiac rehab program?

We were referred here from the registered dietician... food tracker for quantity and focus on food choices for health… it has been a real change that had helped.

Hope you recover well and find your way to a new routine that helps. ♡

Stubborn with this is good! You sound ready to take this on. Hold onto that… takes a bit to establish new foods and routines, but so worth it. Hang in!
