Tracking Phosphorus

Would you add phosphorus as an available item in the nutrients tracked list. This is an important mineral, actually the 2nd most abundant mineral in the human body, after calcium. Generally, the body needs 100 mg per day. People with kidney issues (usually CKD - chronic kidney disease), phosphorus is as important to track as potassium.

A request was opened up in Sep 2024 to add phosphorus as a trackable nutrient item. "Jean" (one of your staff at the time) acknowledged passing this to the internal team.

This IS needed. Please.

We will certainly consider it for future updates!

Where would the information come from? It's not included on food labels.

BTW - "we will pass it on to the internal team/consider it for future updates" is the standard answer to EVERY suggestion. People have been asking for a lot of things for a lot of years and getting the same answer.

It would come from USDA sources, mostly for vegetables, meats, whole grains, etc. Processed foods - all bets are off. I've found that a few of the main AI tools can do much of the consolidation. So the info is there, just gotta round it up. Over time that field in the MFP database would get populated on foods where the stats are searchable.
