Calories burned question

Question..... When I workout on my elliptical I work out at a medium to high resistance. So, my calories that I burn are a lot more than what MFP calculates it. So which one should I go off of?

    I always found MFP's calorie estimates to be way high, so I usually cut them by 50%.

    What make you think you're burning more? Is the machine giving you a number? They're notorious for being horribly inaccurate. For the best possible number, you should invest in a good chest strap heart rate monitor. The Polar FT4 is a good basic unit.
