How to stop sugar cravings

Hi I'm Leonie from Australia. Recently I was put onto cortisone high dose. Causes lots of health problems but weight gain is going to happen. Any tips on cutting cravings especially sugar, carbs and icecream

Hi, sorry, the side effects can last and take awhile to ease away.

Try large non-starchy veggies - in big salads and broth veggie soup, or ready in a veggie tray. Consider low calorie dressings & dips.

I like baby carrots, veggie sticks, rough cut things that take a bit of chewing... and salsa or salsa mixed with a bit of greek yogurt.

Consider maybe a low carb approach with lots of veggies and lower sugar foods and fruits.

Try to ease off high carb fatty sweets, desserts, candy type things that can keep appetite roaring - switch to real/whole food best you can.

Hopefully your appetite will ease soon, and you will have progess in your health recovery ♡

It doesn't work for everyone, but I'm not the only one who has found that eating more whole fruit gradually reduced my cravings for less nutrient-dense sweets like candy and baked goods. Intially, while that kicked in, it took a little willpower. It was a couple of weeks or so before the effect really fully took effect for me.

I started out eating 3 servings of fruit consistently every day. Eventually, I was able to reduce that and still keep the reduced cravings for other sweets, but I admit I still eat quite a bit of fruit because I enjoy it and it's filling for me and of course nutritious.

Maybe that wouldn't work for you: Like I said, it doesn't work for everyone. It might be worth a try, though.
