Single parent working overnights -
Hey, yall.
I’m a single parent working a full-time NOC job that’s extremely sedentary — and while I have committed to a few small sessions of cardio & strength training, I know it isn’t enough.
I currently do the following:
Every bathroom break - 20-30 squats, a handful of walking / brisk walking laps, and some minor exercises to help with circulation.
Working overnight, my cortisol levels are way off. I’m trying to correct this as much as possible. I’m doing a 12:12 intermittent fasting (4a-4p, I sleep 9a-4p) and then break my fast with either egg whites or a protein shake, sometimes a banana if my stomach is acting up. After that, I do all of the parent stuff, prepare my food for the night, and then I’m heading out the door for work. I feel like I have no time to workout. I recently purchased a stair stepper, and I love it! I just can’t find the time to actually get on it and STAY on it.
Kinda rambling; but if anyone has any tips/advice for my situation or similar, I’d be so appreciative and grateful.
*Note, since watching my macros and “forcing” myself to meet my goals, I have lost six pounds!
