    Hello and welcome!

Do you have weight to lose, or is it just that you need to tune up nutrition?

My experience was that losing weight made a big improvement in BP and blood lipids (I didn't have high blood sugar), but I started with around 50 pounds to lose. In a six-month interval between doctor's appointments, I lost about half of that, and that alone made a difference. I was 59-60 at the time (69 now, turning 70 in a couple of weeks).

Of course, nutrition matters for BP and blood sugar, and exercise may also help.

Generally, it's not necessary to eat only superfoods, though getting good overall nutrition is helpful. For most cases, veggies, fruits and whole grains are good things to add to protein sources like meat, fish or dairy. It can be whatever veggies, fruits, etc., that you like, though - assuming you like some.

Exercise doesn't need to be some punitively intense, miserable thing, either, as some people may imagine. Things like gradually increasing walking can help, among other things.

If you're committed to making changes in habits, I'd bet you can make noticeable progress by March.

    Best wishes!
