I understand the impulse - we all want to lose weight fast - but that's a pretty aggressive goal, over a kilo and a half per week. There's a reason MFP's top weight loss rate on offer is a kilo per week. Each kilo per week of loss requires eating 1100 calories fewer than the number of calories it takes to maintain our weight - that's a lot, and can be hard to stick with long enough to lose the total wished-for amount of weight. A kilo and a half would be a cut of 1650 calories daily, a very large fraction of many men's maintenance calorie needs.
You're smart to do this now, though: I didn't lose weight until 58-60, and had already experienced some health consequences from the excess weight. Sooner is better, for sure!
