    Hello, and welcome!

People sometimes vary in what they mean by "fitness". Some mean fitness in the exercise sense, some mean overall health. I'll answer generically.

I used MFP to lose weight a decade ago, and my goal since has been to keep my weight in the healthy range, and the same jeans size. (I hate to clothes-shop!)

For nutrition, I focus on my routine habits, to make sure I'm getting good overall nutrition on average. I don't worry about the rare unusual day - example, yesterday was my birthday 😉😆 - so I figure that if my routine days are solid I'm in good enough shape nutritionally. I have protein and fats minimums I try to meet or exceed, a calorie goal I try to average in the vicinity of, and the goal to eat at least 400g of veggies/fruits daily (but up to 800g or more is better). If I get those veggies/fruits, fiber and micronutrients generally fall into place without detailed attention. (I do supplement a few things for specific reasons.)

On the fitness front, I was actually the semi-mythical fairly fit fat person even before losing weight, even competing as an athlete. (I'm a rower, on-water when I can; machine when I must.) My goals are to keep improving technically - not necessarily pace because realistically aging does affect that - and maintain the physical capabilities I need to stay healthy and independent as long as possible. (I'm already 70.)

It's not much of a problem any more, but I also keep an eye on things like blood pressure, blood lipids, and other routine test results. Good values there are also a goal.

What's your goal or goals? 🙂
