Soreness? or Pain?

I injured my knee while playing soccer last year and I always feel a tenderness when I'm working out. As of May I've been training with a personal trainer and he introduced me to the "foam roller". The way it works is that it basically rolls out all sore muscle or pains after you work out or play any sports. Let me tell you that yes it does hurt like a **** (fill in the blank! lol) but it definitely works.
I usually use it after a work out or any type of sports and massages the pains and/or soreness out of my muscles! its fantastic you should try it out! You can find out more information about it online or on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=foam+rollers+exercises&aq=6)
