I did rough-estimate and log holiday meals during weight loss, because I wanted to pin down my experience-based TDEE estimate as best I could.

Now, in maintenance? I don't log most holidays or other days that are so unusual that they'd be tough to log accurately.

As long as most of my days are health-promoting and maintenance-focused, things will be fine. If my weight creeps up a little over longer periods, I know how to creep it down.

This'll be Thanksgiving # 10 in maintenance. So far, so good. Thanksgiving dinner at rowing buddies' house this year, should be fun.

    Didn't look at the link…

I will log as usual. No family to speak of and Thanksgiving will be spent alone. I did buy an already cooked rotisserie chicken and all the regular turkey fixins' other than desserts. I'll be able to log it pretty well. I have every intention of eating more than my measly regular calories!

    Will log.

When it comes down to it, Thanksgiving doesn’t need to be high calorie. I mean, yeah, I’ll be having the usual turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, homemade bread with homemade butter.

But I’ve learned to eat reasonable portions and to adjust recipes for better nutrition.

I’m not likely to polish off half the loaf these days, use helpful lessons like fat free sour cream to mash the potatoes, and a spoonful of mac will be plenty. Simple mini diced sautéed apples in baked phyllo shells give us the taste of a regular pie, at a fraction of the calories.

Plus, we’ll eat mid day, so have all the calories for both lunch and dinner available.

And, above all, I’ve certainly learned that a massive all day pig out is not worth retriggering the GERD, even for just a night. Nope. Nope. NOPE!!!!!!! No amount of mac and cheese and bread is worth that.

I'll be spending Thanksgiving alone too... nice thing is no family arguments, spend the day how I want not worrying about anyone else, and zen level peace.

🤣 fair enough. Definitely respect not wanting the GERD after.

OMG, if you’ve suffered through it, you totally get it.

It’s another day of food for me.
If my mother was alive and her stuffing was on the menu, possibly a different story.

So I will track.. making duck.

I probably won’t log any food just from the immense amount of busy but all foods eaten will be diet approved gluten free dairy free. I will cook a feast on Thanksgiving and feast we shall. A little bit of each item is good no need to over stuff myself. I’m hoping to get in my usual morning walk run and I should be eating at a deficit leading up to the feast so hopefully the holiday meal won’t mess up my weight loss efforts. Christmas I’ll likely eat less just due to not having much that fits my dietary restrictions. When celebrating with family we each bring a dish to share but since I didn’t cook it I probably won’t be able to eat it. It would be nice if my family was more supportive and actually made food I could eat but at least this way I can’t over eat 🤪
