Should I be eating the calories that are listed as my goal? Is keeping it under not helping?

What is your calorie goal?0

Providing that you are weighing and logging everything and set things up correctly at the start then yes you should be eating as close to your goal as possible and also eating back at least 50% of your exercise calories as well in my opinion.
I cannot say whether eating less is good or bad though0 -
Well, 1200 is my goal without exercise. I usually exercise 500+calories a day. Was just wondering what the general consensus was: Should you eat the 1200+exercise? Or keep it at the 1200 range?0

1200+ exercise calories, you want to net your calorie goal.0

Try this calculator to figure out your TDEE: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
I use this and I don't I have to bother tracking my exercise calories. (And that frees up a lot of head space!)
If you need info on TDEE, etc., this really helped me (and pretty much changed my life):
