I'm getting married!

Unfortunately me and oh cannot come to a decision about when...we keep changing our minds. Thought i would try and get a few opinions from mfp....

My parents are paying for the wedding package and we are paying for all the extras (dress, suits, rings etc) we are on a small budget and found a beautiful place we both loved...we could get a date for summer 2014 there at a package price of £7000 inc wedding breakfast that my dad is happy to pay. We feel guilty as £7000 is a huge amount of money. Last February we saw a place we've been to as guests listing inclusive special offers with 10 free rooms for our guests at just under £4000 for summer weddings.

Would you book your 2014 date now or would you wait and see if the offer comes up again? (the website has similar ones listed now but for winter)

I want to save my dad money if possible but we would have a small time frame to organise everything.

2015 is an option but with 2 children something always crops up!

do you *need* a year to get ready? because if you don't, why not make a few phone calls and see if any places had cancellations. that will also give you an idea of prices.

And also, call that other place you saw and ask them about prices and specials. tell them what you wrote here "we fell in love with your place and remembered that you had a special last year. etc"

I tried calling them a few minutes ago but they would only add me to a special offer mailing list :-(

We def dont need a year, will be very relaxed and we only have 60 on the guest list so no huge wedding to prepare for!
