I use the GoWearFit and I love it. Granted, it's not perfect - it's another way to estimate calories burned, but from what I've read it is more accurate for measuring non-exercise calorie burn than HRM's (which aren't really meant to be used when you are at rest). I'm a numbers person and I love seeing my calorie graph every day. It also measures my sleep, which is helpful to see how much I think I'm sleeping vs how much I"m really sleeping.
Downsides - you have to pay a monthly fee to use the website (and the device is useless without the website where you upload the information), but it's only $6.95 for me, I think (I did a 12 month agreement) - and that's about 2 cups of Starbuck's coffee... totally worth it!
I bought mine off Amazon.com for less than the manufacturer's website.
Feel free to send me a private message if you want more info.
Edited to add: I wear mine about 23 hours a day, only taking it off to shower and to upload the data and charge the device. It's comfortable and you don't even notice it after a few days. The newest models are really slim, so they fit just fine under most long and short-sleeved shirts, including work/dress shirts.0 -
I have a Bodybugg that I'm wearing as I type. I really like it and have found it very motivating. I was at a plateau for months and so far the Bodybugg has helped me drop 4 lbs and from size 10/12 to size 8/10. Honestly, at this point $200 has been worth every penny to drop another size. Yes it is pricey but if it fits in your budget then I'd say buy it.0

Oh - I guess I should add, I lost about 30 lbs last year using my GWF to monitor my calorie expenditure, along with eating healthy and exercising. I quit wearing it and quit watching what I ate/working out and gained about half back, but I'm back on the wagon and am back to almost 20 lbs. lost since I started last fall.
It's not a necessity, but I personally find it very motivating and it helps me stay focused. Totally worth the money!0 -
I have a Body Bugg that I use. I also bought the display device (like a watch that shows you the numbers, where otherwise it is the arm band and you see numbers when you connect it to upload the data). You can see calories burned, steps taken, there is an activity monitor, and a regular watch. The armband stores upto 14 days of information. I upload nightly, though. I just like seeing the numbers and the calories burned at all points throughout the day. I do not use the meal tracker portion of the software how they intend, I just enter my calories from MFP as a meal item for the day so I can monitor that way. There is also a weight tracker on the software that allows you to weigh in once a week.
I love it. I got my set on Ebay for $60 less than retail. There seem to be units there a lot. I think it is $12 a month for the website/software subscription and think it is totally worth it.0 -
Thanks to all of you for your info about these two devices. I am sure that I am going to get one of them. Which ever I can find the best deal on at the time I go to buy. I know it won't be for a few months because of school shopping for the kids right now. But I definently will have one when I get my tax return, if not sooner. Thanks everyone,

I love my GWF!!! I would definitely recommend it to you. It makes fitness a no-brainer. I just set my goals, wear it, and then make sure that I am staying within my goals. It is especially satisfying to watch your numbers go up as you exercise more and more. I took a long time to decide if it was right for me, but it is a great investment. It's a great motivator, and you get so used to it that you hardly remember to take it off for the shower. I update mine nightly because I like the feedback.
Also, I especially love the sleep monitoring capability. I have always had sleeping problems, and I like to be able to see how many times I wake up or how long I slept (or even how many steps I took when I was sleepwalking :blushing: ) It's really helped me know how hard I need to work during the day so that I have my maximum sleep efficiency at night. When I first got the GWF, I had 65% sleep efficiency, but most nights I am at least above 80% now. That alone is worth the expense for me.0 -
Thanks for the feed back. It really sounds like I am going to go with the GWF. I fell in love with the body bug when I watched The Biggest Loser but after doing research and listening to all of the feed back that I have gotten here and a few other places I really think the GWF is the one for me.
Again, Thanks everyone.0 -

Just so you know, BodyBugg and GWF are the same product, made by the same company. It probably doesn't matter which one you buy, as far as functionality goes, but I can't vouch for the BodyBugg website (I like the one for GWF) and I was able to find a better deal for GWF on Amazon.com than I could for BodyBugg when I was purchasing mine last fall. BodyBugg may run slightly more because it's affiliated with 24 hour fitness.

Also, just a warning - I wouldn't bother with the display watch. Mine has never worked right (it shows higher calories burned/steps taken/ exercise time than the program does when I upload my device, which makes no sense, since the display is supposed to show the data from the device. I don't use the watch anymore, which is a shame since I paid so much for it. I tried getting help and they had me reset the device, which didn't make a difference. I should've tried to get a refund or a new one, but was too busy and didn't take the time.0
