hello all my name is Wendy and I am a 40 year old married female weighing in at 155 today. This is the most I have weighed since I was in my early teens. the past year has been an extremely difficult one for me as in July of 2012 I was in a motor vehicle accident which has caused me severe back/hip pain ever since. This pain has been extremely frustrating for me as since my accident i virtually no longer get any excercise as it causes so much pain that I am basically couch bound. i have always been an outgoing energetic busy bee. Since the accident I have had to learn to adjust to this drastic change in my lifestyle. I no longer excercise, walk or do many of the things I have enjoyed doing such as kayaking , hiking, and biking. Which of course as resulted in a drastic weight increase.
I have been working with a pain clinic over the past year and have reached a point that some of my pain is under control having several radiofrequency procedures done and with the assistance of pain medication. Now that I have gained a little more control of my pain (or just reached a point that my high weight and extreme loss of muscle mass stresses me more) I am trying to overcome the fear of hurting myself more by excercising minimally. I have recently begun "excercising" through physical therapy. Although this excercise is very, very, minimal it is nonetheless excercise which can only result in continued improvement, I hope.
Recently my husband (Michael Johnson) has joined "my fitness pall" and has begun a workout program. With his encouragement I have decided to join as well in hopes that by tracking what i eat I will cut back on calories I do not need due to a lack of energy used. It has taken some persuasion but I have been working with my fitness pall for two days now and so far really love the program. Ive known that my eating habits suck (to be perfectly honest), but really have come to have an appreciation of how bad it really is since starting my fitness pall.
I am hoping that with working with my husband, my fitness pall and through physical therapy and minimal excercise I may begin to see some change in my weight. I must say it is depressing knowing that I am so out of shape and can no longer fit in a lot of my clothing and struggle with doing minimal excercise like going for a short walk or doing gentle yoga. Im hoping to continue to make improvements in my eating and excercising while working with my fitness pall. I will gratefully accept any suggestions in regards to ideas for excercises to do with a bad back/hip.
Thanks for the motivation!

Feel free to add me I am an active member. I am very sorry about the motor accident, I am also very outdoorsy and would be lost if I couldn't do the things I love. Slow and steady recovery and healthy eating habits will hopefully put you on the road to success.
