Just looking for opinoins from others, would baked beans such as those by companies such as Heinz be considered processed food because they come in a can?
Is their a healthier option? Just wondering as I eat quite a lot of beans in my diet alongside meat and veg in place of potato.

are they processed? yes.

Hi
I tried to avoid canned items. They usually have too much sodium for my liking.
I love beans. I use the dry variety . I have to soak them overnight in water that covers them all. I only takes 20 minutes to cook.
It also help with less flatulence
Good luck in your journey0 -
Yes they're processed. Healthy needs context and dosage. i like canellini beans, but then I add heavy cream and herbs.......some people would say your killing yourself with the heavy cream, so do what you want. Who cares what other people eat, not me.0

Can or Box pretty much equals processed. That sauce they are in isn't grown in nature. But they're yummy and a good source of fiber. If you're really worried about it make your own.0

Thanks for the replied guys, i've really cut down on processed food since I started my journey, i'd say beans would probably be my main one now so i guess in moderation they are ok but its good to be aware of.0
