Today is my first day on my diet/exercise routine. I hate exercising! Blah! Soooo I need some motivation. What kind of exercises do you guys do? How long do you work out for?

When I am short on time I do 30 mins of cardio - stationary bike, treadmill, walking or jogging outside, a workout DVD, bellydancing, etc If I have more time I choose one from the above and do it longer, 45 mins to an hour.

I also do strength training 2 to 3 times a week for about 45 mins.

Take it easy in the beginning but be consistent. Exercise not only helps you lose weight but it makes you feel so much better. I love it!!! Good luck!!!

I have a few workout DVD's I guess I'll start doing those every morning. I start doing it everyday but then one day I skip it and get out of a rythmn and I quit doing them for weeks. I need to be consistant. Thanks for your reply! :)

YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! IF YOU MISS ONE OR TWO DAYS IT IS TERRIBLY DIFFICULT TO GET BACK INTO THE EXERCISE GROOVE! THIS SITE WILL HELP BECAUSE IF YOU LOG YOUR CALORIES DAILY YOU WILL SEE THAT YOU GET TO EAT MORE IF YOU EXERCISE!! ESPECIALLY ON THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU ARE STARVING. I WAS GOING TO SKIP THE GYM YESTERDAY (BUSY DAY) BUT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY CALORIES LEFT FOR A SMALL DINNER. THEREFORE I WENT TO THE GYM AT 7:30 SO I COULD EAT WHEN I GOT HOME (DID TREADMILL FOR 40 MIN. AND WEIGHTS/ABS FOR 20 MIN.). HOWEVER, WHEN I GOT HOME I WASN'T REALLY HUNGRY ANYMORE AND ONLY HAD 10 CARROTS AND WATER! JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, I LOVE TAKING THE CLASSES AT THE GYM. PERSONALLY, I GET BORED WITH THE TREADMILL AND ELLIPTICAL BUT SOMETIMES I CAN'T ALWAYS GO AT THE TIMES THE CLASSES ARE HELD. CLASSES AT THE GYM ARE USUALLY AN HOUR SO YOU CAN'T QUIT EARLY AND THERE'S LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE TO GET YOU MOTIVATED! GOOD LUCK!

i love bellydancing. its great cardio, and its FUN! i could never stay on a treadmill for longer than 20 minutes, but i can dance for 2 hours at least without getting bored. try to find a local instructor and try a class. there also a lot of instructional dvd's, but i think a real teacher in front of you is much better.

    good luck,

Im kinda like a drill seagent with my self. I know summer ic soming and that is inspiration, so I do an hour of cardio and a half hour of lifting. I run, do sets of stairs till my legs feel like they may fall off, just started blading again. I also swim two-three days a week. I also try to toss in some yoga here and there to keep my stress level down...but I have been at this for a year plus now and am to the last few to get off.
