First time with MFP

I know my account says I registered in 2011, but I have no memory of that at all!

But yesterday I came across MFP on reddit (specifically r/loseit - a sub where people help each other through weight loss etc), and just seeing everyones progress and the simple ways they achieved it made me feel like taking my weight loss more seriously.

I am from Cyprus (North), but live in glorious London, UK and around my teenage years I developed a rather bad eating habit. Stress/Comfort eating, and eating at the wrong times. As it stands I am 96kg, I was 101kg ending of December, so progress has been slow. Its 11:45am and I have not had breakfast yet - and this is the problem, i dont necessarily eat unhealthy foods, i just eat at the worse possible times/skip meals or even food all together some days.

I am really hoping to find people who had similar habits, and managed to correct it! So that I can not only learn from them, but also get my weight loss back on track - not only for me, or my kids, but for my wife! She deserves the old me back :D

  • Hiya and welcome!

This is my second time with MFP, and I have to tell you it really does work if your willing to stick at it!

The first time round I went from 70Kg to 63Kg (11 stone to 10 stone)

I cycled to and from work 5 days a week (20 miles / 120 minutes of cardio) plus I ran 3-8 miles 3 times a week.

I logged all my food and within 4 months I had lost a stone

I left MFP and started making excuses and I am now heavier than before at 73Kg

This time round I am not going as hardcore I am taking it slower and setting myself weekly goals.

Currently I have a goal to cycle 200 miles in September and to do 300 minutes of cardio a week, In October I will up these goals so i keep pushing myself.

There is lots of advice on here the best thing you can do is to review what different people have to say but do what you know you can sustain and do what you think will work for you,

Lots of posivity is needed but you can reach your goals, just set your self small steps to acheive so you can have mini celebrations on the way!
