Are trainers at your gym also useless?
This is sort of a rant.. but what the heck..
I wanna know, at your gym, do your trainers ever help people out if you can see someone is doing something wrong? Do that just sit and laugh at the person? Well, clearly these so-called professionals at my gym do just that.
Sitting during my rest period at gym, I came to notice a guy was busy trying to squat.. He was doing it in quite a strange way, these 2 trainers were busy standing staring at him, pointing and laughing.. Making childish comments about him and the way he's exercising.. Surely If you're a trainer representing the gym, you have the free time to be standing looking at other people, you could at LEAST help the poor guy out on advice?
This is not the first time this has happened either. I've also noticed the trainer throwing a fanny-wobble because he wanted to use some barbell clips but another guy was using them, he walks off all angry like a 6 year old throwing a tantrum, saying just loud enough for people to hear "he's not even doing it properly" ..... Then why not help him out with correct form/technique Mr. Professional???
Is my gym the only gym that has these kinds of douchey trainers who care (hardly) about their clients forms|techniques alone? :indifferent:

Yes...but I've been to 5 different gym in my time, and I've never seen a trainer approach someone without being asked. They never make direct eye contact or correct anyone that's using machines or lifting wrong. I had one scary lady approach me and offer me her services, she told me I was lifting wrong, and then proceeded to show me an entirely different move. I was deadlifting, she was showing me a Barbell Rear Delt Row. It was funny because a) she didn't work there, and b) she was wrong, and a guy at the water fountain told me he's glad I shut her down lol, Report those *kitten* monkeys, they shouldn't get away with crap like that.0

I can't attest specifically to trainers, but I have a membership at Planet Fitness. There are many people that seem to work there but do little to nothing besides fart around behind the reception desk. Its pretty annoying and unprofessional. If the employees are that bored and have nothing to do, they should be sent home and management should review their staffing procedures.0

Yup.
I asked who on staff knew powerlifting and could work with my on squat form.
They told me that there is a leg press machine and it was really easy to use. I replied with, "Oh, I thought you guys had actual trainers here. Sorry."0 -
My gym is awesome and so are most of the trainers there. They aren't shy about approaching you to give some advice or correct form...show you other supplemental exercises, etc...0

The staff at the gym I used to go to was a bunch of teenagers on their phones.. they didn't help you unless you had a scheduled time with them or you kept asking them stuff... Then they would show you something and it would be wrong.. The most training I seen the Personal trainers do involved having people swing kettleballs around or place a ladder on the ground for a cardio circuit.. at no time did I see them help someone that wanted to lift weights (They probably told people they didn't need to lift)0
