Hello from Nawlins :)

Hi MFP members. My name is Derek and I'm currently living in the party city known as New Orleans where it goes 24/7 12 months a year and i have the weight to prove it. I am in my second week of what i will simply term as a "lifestyle" change in the hopes, no check that, the fact that i am going to get my weight down to around 170 (started at 195) which i would consider ok for my height (5'8"). I am 47 years old and my first week of this change was focused at really just getting my rear end off the couch. I tend to be very active on weekends (yard work, Kayak fishing) but during the week it's through the front door and straight to the couch. I have changed this by walking 3 miles daily and also have adjusted my eating habits. I appreciate any advice and help offered as this is the first time i have ever tried to loose weight. Thanks in advance.
