Strange problem

Options
This has been happening for 3 weeks or so. I gag any time I eat anything, no matter what it is. I have never had an eating disorder or had any problems like this before. How do I fix this? Anyone have this problem?

I have been nauseous for several days after I eat or drink something. I figured it's the flu but it is a little scary. Wonder what's going on down there. You might need to see a doctor.

Saw this in your feed. That's very, very strange.

Any/all foods? Fluids? Are you just powering through it in order to get nutrition?

Is it physical or psychological? I expect you could tell if you, as soon as you attempt to put food in your mouth, gag, but for instance can put a toothbrush in there just fine.

It's interesting that it's coinciding with you signing up for this site.

Hmm I don't know I eat because I don't want to get sick from malnutrition. I can brush my teeth ok so maybe it is in my head. I have never had this problem before. Scratches head

Could be acid reflux or GERD. Try Prilosec.

Sometimes that happens when people have acid reflux... food comes back up the esophagus and people gag a little from it, even when they don't notice the food. It could be from something else, too. I would see a doctor when you can afford it. In the meantime, you might change your diet (less acidic food) as an experiment to see if it goes away.

I smoke a lot of weed so that's not such a big problem for me ( its legal here) I am starting to think it might be just acid reflux going to buy some prilosic

Certainly coffee is very acidic, and if that's turning your stomach, perhaps acid reflux is the culprit. If your esophageal sphincter is irritated enough from acid, I can imagine that making swallowing an issue.

If you go to a doctor for this, they will probably send you to a gastroinestinal specialist who run will tests to find out why you are gagging... I had this problem many years ago and went through the tests. They will ask you to drink dye and then they watch to see what happens when you swallow.

Again, the gagging could be for some reason other than acid reflux.

If you can afford it, it would be a good idea to see a doctor. In the meantime, you might cut out the oranges and lemons and eat apples or melons, something less acidic than coffee, etc. and see if you notice any differences.
