After and during a workout...

I pretty much have been doing the same cardio workout for the past month. Some days i feel super tiered afterwards, other times i don't. Some days i feel i'm getting more of a workout, as in my heart rate is higher and i am actually sweating (which i normally don't sweat much) and other days it feels like a more relaxed workout?

I was just wondering if this was normal? Im pretty new to this working out thing so i cant be sure.

What else might be different? Lots of things affect how you feel day to day. How did you sleep the night before? What did you eat? How hot was it? What else do you have on your mind? How much water have you drunk?

    Hey jennifer,
What cardio program are you doing to keep in track. I am doing Lea Mills Combat it is an amazing cardio program that burns tremendous amounts of calories and keeps you engsged. It could be your diet that is causing you to be tired on some days and not on others. Hope to hear from you soon.

  • This all makes very much sense. I suppose just because i don't think i feel different from day to day doesn't mean my body isn't reacting to a number of factors i'm unaware of.

Im not really doing a cardio program exactly. I just sort of developed a routine where i have slowly been increasing the difficulty, mostly by increasing the resistance or speed or incline depending on if i'm using the treadmill or elliptical.

Is it possible you are just putting in more effort on some days than others? Is the temperature always the same? If you take rest breaks, are you generally consistent with them each time? Otherwise, I agree that it could just be your level of hydration, whether or not (and how much) you've eaten, how rested you are, etc. If you are keeping track of stuff like this in a training log, you should be able to compare it to your food log.
  • Id say thats definitely a possibility. Some days i'm more motivated then others. Temperature is always about the same id say and my breaks are definitely consistent.

I like your idea of keeping a training log though, ill definitely start this and maybe ill be able to discern why i feel differently day to day. Thanks for the tip!

are you eating and sleeping enough?
  • I definitely get enough sleep. I am known for not eating enough though. Im also aware that because i am not exercising i should be eating at least a little bit more so i'm not creating to much of a deficiency. For so long i just dieted that im not used to have to eating so much.
