A stupid question about weights

Hi everyone,
Ok - please bare with me.
When I was a teenager, I actually used to work at a gym. I used to have personal trainer friends, and lifting weights just came naturally. It was easy for me to get to the point of squatting my own weight etc.
Fast forward 7 years later, and I don't even know where to start. I remember that you have to switch things up and do things like legs on different days to chest etc. but besides that, I have no idea.
I don't want to get into it as much as I used to, but I'd like to lift 3-4 times a week, along with cardio. Should I therefore just do a full body workout on those days, as I won't need to isolate as much since I'll have enough time to recover?
Is there any where I can go to online to get a sample programme to go with and try out? I remember that we used to be told things like 8 reps per set is muscle building, 10-12 is strengthening and 15+ is endurance. Is that still the case?
I'm not sure whether our gym (military base) has people who work there to actually write up a programme. I'm guessing I'd need a personal trainer to do that, and I don't have the funds to commit to a 10 session block at $400.
I hope that someone can help
Thanks!
Emma
