Any competitors (bodybuilding, bikini, etc) out there?

My goal for the next year is to compete. I have yet to decide if I want to do bikini or bodybuilding (although leaning more towards bikini), but I'd love to hear any input about any competition lifestyles, whether it's about your way of eating, your workouts, or even just your general life from day to day. I never thought about competing until I had 3 people in one week ask if I was training for a competition. It kind of made way for me to break through and decide that I'm going to do it. So like I said, any type of input about the prepping, the workouts, the ups and downs, I'd love to hear it. :-)

    I have been working on general fitness for a few years now,
    lately i started the 5x5 work out with focus on improving squats.
    gained incredible mass in a short time way better than any other workout iv followed till date.
    i started reading about power-lifting , though i am no way near the competition level i have an aim
    to reach that level during training. (not competition)
    just for the personal accomplishment purpose.
    i try to follow the same routine and diet as they do.
    would like to know the workout routine you follow?
