I guess it depends on what type of training.
if I did heavy strength training for 4 hours a day I would develop a host of problems very quickly.0 -

there is nothing wrong with actors using drugs to help develop their bodies. they are being guided by some of the best doctor's in the business.0 -

It's dam near impossible to overtrain. It's easy to under eat and under sleep.0

yup. a question was asked, and you answered. That was the only point I was making, no harm intended. I apologize, cause it gets pretty defensive sometimes on these pages. But I meant no harm0 -

There is a certain "brand" of wisdom floating around out there that if you do more than 30 minutes of training 3 times a week, you're "overtraining".
Often goes hand in hand with the group of folks who believe anything longer than a 20 second sprint is "chronic cardio".0 -

how many months did he work out for? its not like he did it for a year or more. and he may have taken a day off here or there no matter what he says.0 -

I work out 2-3+ hours every day, save one rest day, and I'm fine. I've been doing it for quite a while with no ill effects. If I wasn't eating at a deficit and I had the guidance/supervision of a trainer, nutritionist, and doctor, I'm sure I could put out 4 hours a day. Are Olympic athletes overtraining? Likely not. Whether your exercise can be considered overtraining is highly dependent on your fitness level, eating, and sleeping habits.0 -

overtraining by and large is a myth.
The ONLY way to actually overtrain is to have a stupid template where you push the same movement patterns into overload daily over the course of weeks. But thats the key, pushing to OVERLOAD.
Consider people working out in the oilpatch doing heavy labour. They are working out 60+ hours a week doing exercise that is harder than what 99% of the people on this board do for their workout. But because it's the same old thing everyday and no overload, then it's just routine. No biggie. Eat like a horse, sleep lots, and they get through it no problem.0
