Never understood do Strength for BodyFat

Why is this always tossed out there? You can lose body fat just by doing Cardio alone. Is it because you lose bodyfat faster doing strength or what?

    You keep more lean mass if you do strength training while eating at a deficit. Technically, you can lose weight without any exercise at all by just controlling your diet.

    When you do strength training you build muscle, building muscle burns calories long after you're finished exercising. Cardio burns calories while you're doing it but stops the minute you get finished. By doing strength training it helps create lean muscle mass, burn more calories and it also tightens everything up better/more naturally. Not to mention the added benefits of fighting osteoporosis. Now go lift :)

    Exercise does not make you lose weight. Being on a calorie deficit is what will cause you to lose weight. Cardio is great at burning calories so you have more of a calorie deficit. However, it does not work and maintain your muscles like weight lifting does. The weight you lose from doing solely cardio (or no exercise at all) will have a higher percentage of muscle loss compared to losing weight while lifting.
