Better is the one you enjoy and will do most consistently.

Better how? It really just depends on your goals as to what would be better. Also, your routine...there are numerous free weight routines out there that will al accomplish different things (i.e. some focus on strength while others focus on hypertrophy and muscle building...while others focus on muscular endurance, etc). It's just not that black and white...

depends on your goals and how you train. Normally though classes are just cardio in disguise so it's not actually weight training.

Also to note with lifting. Normally the point of lifting is to overload the muscles. so they then rebuild themselves stronger and bigger. (bigger assuming you're eating in a surplus, otherwise just stronger). Ok fine. Here's the catch. TRX is normally instability type training. When you're on an unstable surface, the primary driver will actually power down, and the antagonist driver will fire up. This helps balance. This also ensures that overload is impossible since the primary muscle driver is not able to fire near as hard. This is why you can say squat 200lbs on flat ground, but only your bodyweight on a bosu ball. So unstable training is ONLY to be used as an accessory exercise for sport training for example, or rehab, or preventative training, or if you're very new to training for a few weeks before you try a real lifting template.
  • Which is better? You can't compare those two things. That's apples and oranges. That's like asking p90x or insanity? All depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Goals.
