Sweaty arm band, any suggestions?

So I use an Arkon armband for my Samsung Galaxy Note II when I go out running to listen to music and track my runs. Problem is, I've been using it since December and it's sweaty, smelly and generally disgusting. It protects the phone perfectly, but I'm not thrilled about the smell.

Is there an effective way to clean it and get the smell out without damaging it? Or do I just have to replace every six months or so? This seems wasteful. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

D you clean it all between runs? Perhaps get a new one and spot clean it after each run. Febreeze?

Can you throw it into the washer? I don't use this exact armband, but I use a similar one and wash it a couple times a week with the rest of my clothes.

Pop it into your dishwasher and take it out before the drying cycle, Air dry flat. Be sure to take a clean dry cloth and remove any water droplets you can see on plastic face.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been rinising it out by hand after use but that's been doing nothing. I have been worried about throwing it in the wash thinking it would shrink, so I think I will try the dishwasher first and also order a spare just in case.

I wash mine in the washing machine and hang to dry.

Maybe also try a spray of vodka/water mix and then letting it dry in between wearings (it worked as a de-funker on Mythbusters!).

Looks like it is made of neoprene.
