Using a bike / running

Hi,

I have two questions is it normal for a person to experience pain when using the bike at the gym. I have just started going to the gym again and every time I get on the bike my knees kill after about three minutes. What I normally do is 2 minutes off for active recovery and 3 minutes for a workload. As well when ever I go running I tend to run on my toes and want to know if there is any way I can fix this. Since I used to walk on my toes when I was kid and had to get an operation to get on my heels. The running on my toes is causing my calfs to get tight again. Just wondering if there is any exercises I can do that people know of.

Thank you
Amy G

I don't know about bikes at the gym but for a actual bicycle it will make your knees hurt if you are trying to mash through a climb. Basically if you are going at a resistance too high it can/will cause knee pain. Try reducing the resistance even though it may feel too "light" it should help.

Sorry about the running on the toes issue, no advice for that.
