So I never knew these things existed and I am pretty intrigued. I am just not sure if it is something I "need". I am counting calories and try to walk most nights. I have an iphone so I usually use my imap program that tells me how far I have gone and how many calories burned. The down side is my battery needs to be pretty full to make it last the length of my walks. If I exercise I use the wii and it also tells me my calories at the end.

I really like the idea of something more accurate telling me exactly how many calories I burn in a day. I like the idea of a watch so that it can be worn anytime, anywhere. So I guess if I got one the most important thing would be the calories burned feature. One that can do all day calories burned as well as targetting the walk. I guess I wouldn't need the walk if at the end of the day all was calculated.

I have been reading good things about polar but not sure which one does what I need. Does anyone have one that does what I need it to? Where can I find the best price and if i buy used what do I need to make sure comes with it.

TIA :)

I would think you need a chest strap to be accurate, I dont know if your Iphone would be. I have a Polar Ft7 and it has a chest strap and I love it, easy to use

Not sure how accurate either. I know it tracks by GPS so maybe distance plus time? I think I just really want a new toy and trying to figure out if it is needed or just wanted ;)

I love mine. I think it's much more accurate for just about everything for me, than anything I've found online. Polar FT4 I think is mine.
