Hydration system

It's no longer convenient for me to plan my long runs around water sources, so I'm thinking about carrying water with me. I'm currently doing 14 miles for my long run but hope to work my way up to a marathon this spring. Could some other runners give me advice about a hydration pack or belt you have found to be helpful? (or ones to avoid)
Some features I am looking for are:
- comfort (of course), so no bouncing, rubbing, not too heavy
- enough water for marathon training
- at least 1 small pocket to carry food
I don't have strong feelings one way or another about a belt vs. backpack but am more concerned with overall comfort for a long run.
Thanks!

I haven't had to use one yet but know I'd hate wearing anything (currently training for a 10 mile without water). I think if I ever train for a longer race I will place water bottles on my route prior to my runs.0

I tried placing water on my route last time, (14 miles) but placing them was time-consuming and I found myself wanting water more frequently than was available. Surely someone out there has an opinion...

I was just reading a couple forums about this on Runners World yesterday. The general response was that a backpack is more comfortable and less distracting than a belt, but most people just use handhelds.

I use a Nathan Trail Mix belt for anything longer than 2hrs, but never for less. It has a small pocket and two bottles. You gotta wear it on your hips or it will bounce and shift up to your waist. If you're fueled/hydrated properly, you probably shouldn't need much for a 14 mile run.0
